Perks of being a paid subscriber (+ quarterly zoom call)
What you can look forward to when you subscribe to The Love Drive
Hey folks,
OK, this is funny. I didn’t know how to email all my paid subscribers so I created this post instead. Then I googled it and found out that I could have just emailed them directly through the dashboard. Live and learn! I’m keeping this up so that you all can see what perks you get as a paid subscriber.
Thank you.
I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for being paid subscribers. As of August 2024, there are 221 of you, and I’m so grateful you’re here. Thank you.
As most of you know, this publication is only a few months old, and I’m still figuring out how everything works (including emailing my paid subscribers directly!) I’m enjoying the platform even though, at times, I’m not too sure how to engage with it and am still getting my bearings.
I have lots of ideas for content, and while I can get very ADHD about it all, I’m trying to be strategic so I don’t overwhelm you all. My impulse is to post all the things all the time, but a new friend warned me that slow and steady is the way to go because people are busy! Thanks
.The plan.
As of now, the plan is to post once a week. Here's what you can expect:
My most intimate posts. Read them here.
Voicemails to Dad, an intimate look at my relationship with my dad. Monthly voicemails to my dad. I’ve recorded four so far.
A quarterly Zoom hang. More on this below.
A shorter how-to blog post from my archives for free subscribers.
And more. I’m just starting here and have big plans to further develop what you’ll get with your paid subscription. Video with some of my writer friends, thought leaders, and experts and a special Q&A column where you can send in your questions, a la Dear Abby, to name a few. Stay tuned, I’m excited.
The Zoom hang.
I’m excited to announce a quarterly, one-hour Zoom call for us to hang out. You can ask me anything about me, your big love and relationship questions, or whatever you’re working on. It's casual, fun, and simple. Just show up, and let’s drink coffee together.
The first is Saturday, September 7th, at 9 AM Pacific, 12 Noon Eastern. Mark your calendar, and I’ll send you a reminder with the Zoom link one week prior and the day of. If you can’t make it live, you’ll get the recording to watch. I plan on hosting these every three months on the first Saturday of the month.
Gimme Feedback.
Do you have any feedback for me? What are you loving? What would you like to see more of? I’m open to hearing from you about your experience here. Leave a comment, and I’ll make sure to read and reply.
Thanks, friend.
Shaun
Zoom-hang is an awesome idea! Sign me up!
Also, I agree with Laura.. not only are people busy, but being slow and steady makes us more likely to make sure to stop what we are doing and catch up with what you've posted, I think. Not sure what the sweet spot is, but your game plan seems pretty close to the right mix!
I’m excited for the quarterly coffee Zoom hang-out. In time, it may be an idea for subscribers to vote on a certain topic to explore together during the zoom calls. I’m all for having coffee and hanging out casually but in time, a focus for each call where everyone can share, brainstorm and offer perspectives to one another could be engaging and neat.
