Loved this Shaun, great read! It's tough out there. I have worked really hard to be emotionally available, likely still working on it as I believe it's a process and always something we can strive to be better at. As for finding someone emotionally available, I am 100% failing in that department! It doesn't help that I am a counsellor, I immediately weed out 90% of the emotionally unavailable men in one conversation because what I do to help others scares them away. Sad but true. I tell myself it's a good thing I am ok being single, but I imagine that at some point that ends...Here's to hoping one day an emotionally available, handsome man comes my way!

That is unfortunate, but better to know ahead of time that they aren't a fit for you. And here's to more than one coming your way so you can choose the most aligned man for you!

I'm emotionally available! (genuinely celebrating) I think I suffer from low self-esteem instead of low EQ :). This was helpful in validating that for me...

Nice work! I always knew you as a pretty tuned-in man, so I'm not surprised you passed with flying colors!

I liked the part about shutting down. Being vulnerable is scary and also practicing clear communication can be uncomfortable! Because you have to listen! Shutting down is the easy path for me sometimes and honestly it makes things worse. So instead of shutting down I’m now trying to calm down, create space and schedule time later for honest conversations.
